And when he opened the seventh seal, there was a silence in heaven for about half an hour.
And I saw the seven angels that stand before God, and seven trumpets were given to them.
And another angel came and stood over the altar, having a golden censer, and there was given to him much incense, that he should add it to the prayers of all the holy ones on the golden altar that was before the throne.
And the smoke of the incense, with the prayers of the holy ones, went up before God out of the angel’s hand.
And the angel took the censer and he filled it with the fire of the altar and threw it on the earth, and there was thunder, and sounds, and lightning, and an earthquake.
The Seven Trumpets
And the seven angels that had the seven trumpets prepared themselves to blow them.
And the first blew his trumpet, and there came hail and fire, mingled with blood, and they were thrown to the earth, and a third of the earth was burned up, and a third of the trees were burned up, and all green grass was burned up.
And the second angel blew his trumpet, and something like a great mountain burning with fire was thrown into the sea, and a third of the sea became blood,
and a third of the creatures that were in the sea that had soul life, died, and a third of the ships were destroyed.
And the third angel blew his trumpet, and a great star, burning like a torch, fell from heaven and it fell on a third of the rivers, and on the springs of the waters,
and the name of the star is called Wormwood. And a third of the waters became wormwood, and many people died from the waters because they were made bitter.
And the fourth angel blew his trumpet, and a third of the sun was struck, and a third of the moon, and a third of the stars, so that a third of them were darkened, and the day did not shine for a third of it, and the night in the same way.
And then I looked, and I heard an eagle, flying high overhead, saying with a loud voice, “How terrible! How terrible! How terrible it will be for those who live on the earth, because of the other sounds of the trumpets of the three angels who are about to blow their trumpets.”
