And a great sign was seen in heaven: a woman clothed with the sun, and the moon under her feet, and on her head a crown of 12 stars.
And she was pregnant and crying out, having birth pains and the struggle of giving birth.
And another sign was seen in heaven, and Look!, a great red dragon, having seven heads and ten horns, and on his heads seven diadems.
And his tail dragged away a third of the stars of heaven, and threw them to the earth, and the dragon stands before the woman who is about to give birth, in order that when she gives birth to her child, he can devour him.
And she gave birth to a son, a male, who is about to shepherd all the nations with a rod of iron, and her child was caught up to God, and to his throne.
And the woman fled into the desert, where she has a place prepared by God, that there they can nourish her 1,260 days.
Satan Thrown Down to Earth
And there was war in heaven. Michael and his angels went to fight with the dragon, and the dragon fought (and his angels),
and they were not strong enough, nor was a place found for them in heaven any more.
And the great dragon was thrown down, the old serpent, he who is called the Devil and the Adversary, the one who is deceiving the whole inhabited world; he was thrown down to the earth, and his angels were thrown down with him.
And I heard a great voice in heaven, saying, “Now the salvation, and the power, and the kingdom of our God, and the authority of his Christ have come, for the accuser of our brothers and sisters is thrown down, who accuses them before our God day and night.
And they overcame him because of the blood of the Lamb and because of the word of their testimony, and they did not love their lives—even to death.
Therefore rejoice, O heavens, and you who live in them. How terrible it will be for the earth and the sea because the Devil has gone down to you, having great fury, knowing that he has but a short time.”
And when the dragon saw that he was thrown down to the earth, he persecuted the woman who gave birth to the man child.
And the woman was given the two wings of a great eagle so that she could fly into the desert to her place, where she is to be nourished for a time, and times, and half a time, from the face of the serpent.
And the serpent spewed water, like a river, out of his mouth after the woman, so that he could cause her to be carried away by the stream.
And the earth helped the woman, and the earth opened her mouth and swallowed up the river that the dragon spewed out of his mouth.
And the dragon was enraged with the woman, and went away to make war with the rest of her seed, who keep the commandments of God, and hold the testimony of Jesus.
