Psalms 80

Restore Us, O God

Give ear, O Shepherd of Israel, you who lead Joseph like a flock, you who sit above the cherubim, shine forth!
In the presence of Ephraim and Benjamin and Manasseh, rouse your strength and come for our salvation!
Restore us, O God. And make your face shine that we may be delivered!
O Yahweh God of Armies, how long will you fume in anger against the prayer of your people?
You have fed them with the bread of tears and given them tears to drink in threefold measure.
You make us an object of contention to our neighbors. Yes, our enemies ridicule us among themselves.
Restore us, O God of Armies. And make your face shine that we may be delivered!
You uprooted a vine out of Egypt. You drove out the nations and replanted it.
You cleared the ground before it. Then it took deep root and filled the land.
The mountains were covered with its shadow. And its branches resembled the cedars of God.
It sent out its branches to the sea and its shoots to the River Euphrates.
Why have you broken down its walls, so that all who pass by the road may pluck from it?
A boar from the forest ravages it. And a beast from the field feeds on it.
Please restore us, O God of Armies. Look down from heaven and see, and visit this vine,
yes, the shoot that your right hand planted, and on the son that you made strong for yourself.
It is burned with fire. It is cut down. Let them perish from the rebuke of your presence!
Let your hand be on the man of your right hand, on the son of man whom you made strong for yourself.
Then we will not turn away from you. Revive us, and we will call upon your name.
Restore us, O Yahweh God of Armies. Make your face shine that we may be delivered!
