Psalms 142

You Are My Refuge

I cry out to Yahweh with my voice; I seek favor from Yahweh with my voice.
I pour out my complaint before him; I declare my distress before him.
When my spirit fainted within me, you yourself knew my path. In the way where I walk they have hidden a trap for me.
Look on my right and see, for no one takes any notice of me; there is no refuge for me; no one enquires about my soul.
I cried out to you, O Yahweh. I said, “You are my refuge, my portion in the land of the living.”
Give attention to my cry, for I am very small; deliver me from my persecutors, for they are stronger than me.
Bring my life out of the prison, so that I may praise your name; the righteous will surround me, for you will treat me well.
