And he said to his disciples, “It is impossible for stumbling blocks not to come, but how terrible it will be for the one through whom they come!
It would be better for him if a millstone were hung around his neck and he were thrown into the lake, rather than that he should cause one of these little ones to fall away.
Watch yourselves. “If your brother sins, rebuke him, and if he repents, forgive him.
And if he sins against you seven times in the day, and seven times returns to you saying, ‘I repent,’ forgive him.”
Increase Our Faith
And the apostles said to the Lord, “Increase our trust.”
And the Lord said, “If you had trust as a grain of mustard seed, you would say to this mulberry tree, ‘Be rooted up and be planted in the lake,’ and it would obey you.
Unworthy Servants
“But who is there among you who has a servant plowing or keeping sheep, that when he has come in from the field will say to him, ‘Come immediately and recline to eat,’
and will not instead say to him, ‘Prepare something for me to eat, and tie your robe up and serve me while I eat and drink, and afterward you may eat and drink’?
“Does he thank the servant because he did the things that were commanded?
Even so you also, when you have done all the things that are commanded you, say, ‘We are unprofitable servants; we have done only what we were obligated to do.’”
Jesus Cleanses Ten Lepers
And it came to pass, as he was on his way to Jerusalem, that he was passing through the border between Samaria and Galilee.
And as he entered a certain village he was met by ten men who had serious skin diseases, who stood at a distance.
And they lifted up their voices, saying, “Jesus, Master, have mercy on us.”
And when he saw them, he said to them, “Go and show yourselves to the priests.” And it came to pass, as they went, they were cleansed.
But one of them, when he saw that he was healed, turned back, praising God with a loud voice,
and he fell on his face at his feet, giving him thanks (he was a Samaritan).
And Jesus answering said, “Were not the ten cleansed? But where are the nine?
Were there none found that returned to give glory to God, except this foreigner?”
And he said to him, “Get up and go on your way. Your trust has made you whole.”
The Coming of the Kingdom
And being asked by the Pharisees when the Kingdom of God would come, he answered them and said, “The Kingdom of God does not come accompanied with observation,
nor will they say, ‘Look! Here it is!’ or, ‘There it is!’ for, Look!, the Kingdom of God is among you.”
And he said to the disciples, “The days will come when you will long to see one of the days of the Son of Man, and you will not see it.
And they will say to you, ‘Look!, there it is! Look!, here it is!’ Do not go out after them, nor pursue them,
for just as the lightning, flashing out of one part of the sky shines to the other part of the sky, so will be the Son of Man in his day.
But first he must suffer many things and be rejected by this generation.
“And as it came to pass in the days of Noah, even so will it be also in the days of the Son of Man.
They ate, they drank, they married, they were given in marriage, until the day that Noah went into the ark, and the flood came and destroyed them all.
It was the same as happened in the days of Lot. They were eating, drinking, buying, selling, planting, building—
but in the day that Lot went out of Sodom it rained fire and sulfur from heaven and destroyed them all.
It will be just the same in the day that the Son of Man is revealed.
“On that day, anyone who is on the housetop with his belongings in the house, he must not go down to take them away. And similarly, anyone who is in the field must not turn back.
Remember Lot’s wife.
Whoever seeks to gain his life will lose it, but whoever loses his life will preserve it.
I say to you, in that night there will be two men on one bed; the one will be taken, and the other will be left.
There will be two women grinding grain together; the one will be taken, and the other will be left.”
[[Two men will be in the field; the one will be taken, and the other left.]]
And they, answering, say to him, “Where, Lord?” And he said to them, “Where the dead body is, there also the vultures will be gathered together.”
