Leviticus 2

Laws for Grain Offerings

“When anyone approaches with an approach offering of a grain offering to Yahweh, his approach offering must be of fine flour, and he is to pour oil on it and put frankincense on it.
He is to bring it to Aaron’s sons, the priests; and he will take his handful of its fine flour and of its oil, with all its frankincense; and the priest will burn this reminder portion into smoke on the altar, an offering made by fire, of a pleasant aroma to Yahweh.
Whatever is left of the grain offering will be Aaron’s and his sons.‘ It is a most holy thing of the offerings of Yahweh made by fire.
“When you approach with an approach offering that is a grain offering baked in the oven, it must be unleavened cakes of fine flour mixed with oil, or unleavened wafers anointed with oil.

You are to cut it in pieces and pour oil on it. It is a grain offering.
If your approach offering is a grain offering from the pan, it must be made of fine flour with oil.
You are to bring the grain offering that is made of these things to Yahweh, and it is to be presented to the priest and he will bring it to the altar.

“No grain offering that you offer to Yahweh is to be made with yeast; for you are not to burn any yeast into smoke, nor any honey, as an offering made by fire to Yahweh;
as an approach offering from firstfruits you may offer them to Yahweh, but they are not to offer them up as a pleasant aroma on the altar.
Every approach offering that is your grain offering you are to season with salt; you must not allow the salt of the covenant of your God to be lacking from your grain offering. With all your approach offerings you are to offer salt.
“If you offer a grain offering of firstfruits to Yahweh, you must offer for the grain offering of your firstfruits fresh ears, roasted with fire, crushed new grain.
You are to put oil on it and lay frankincense on it; it is a grain offering.
The priest is to burn the remaining portion into smoke, from its bruised grain and its oil, along with all its frankincense; it is an offering made by fire to Yahweh.
