“When a man takes a wife and marries her, and it happens that she finds no favor in his eyes because he has found some indecency in her, he is to write her a bill of divorce and put it in her hand, and send her out of his house.
When she has gone out of his house, she may go and be another man’s wife.
And if the second husband hates her and writes her a bill of divorce and puts it in her hand and sends her out of his house, or if the second husband, who took her to be his wife, dies,
her former husband who sent her away may not take her again to be his wife, after she has been made unclean, for that is an abomination before Yahweh, and you must not cause the land to sin that Yahweh your God gives you for an inheritance.

“When a man takes a new wife, he is not to not go out in the army, nor is he to be assigned any public duty. He is to be free to stay at home one year and bring happiness to his wife whom he has taken.
No one is to take as security a hand mill, or even the upper millstone, because he would be taking a person’s life as a security.
“If a man is found kidnapping any of his brothers of the children of Israel and he deals with him as a slave or sells him, then that thief must die; so you must purge the evil from the midst of you.
“Take heed in the plague of leprosy, that you are very careful to do according to all that the Levitical priests teach you. As I commanded them, so you are to be careful to do.
Remember what Yahweh your God did to Miriam on the way as you came out of Egypt.
“When you lend your neighbor any kind of loan, you are not to go into his house to get the thing that he has pledged.
You are to stand outside, and the man to whom you make the loan is to bring the pledge outside to you.
If he is a poor man, you must not sleep in his pledge;
you are to return, yes, return the pledge to him when the sun goes down so that he can sleep in his garment and bless you, and that will be righteousness to you before Yahweh your God.
“You are not to oppress a hired servant who is poor and needy, whether he is one of your brothers or one of your foreigners who are in your land inside your gates;
on that same day you are to give him his wage; you are not to let the sun to go down on him, for he is poor and sets his heart on it; lest he cry out against you to Yahweh and it is sin upon you.
“The fathers are not to be put to death for the sins of the children, nor are the children to be put to death for the fathers; every man will be put to death for his own sin.
You are not to deprive the foreigner or the fatherless of justice, nor take a widow’s clothing in pledge;
but you are to remember that you were a slave in Egypt, and Yahweh your God redeemed you from there. Therefore I command you to do this thing.
“When you reap your harvest in your field and you forget a sheaf in the field, you are not to go back to get it; it is to be for the foreigner, for the fatherless and for the widow, that Yahweh your God may bless you in all the work of your hands.
When you beat the olives off your olive tree, you are not to examine the boughs again; that will be left for the foreigner, for the fatherless and for the widow.
When you harvest your vineyard, you are not to glean it afterwards; that gleaning will be for the foreigner, for the fatherless and for the widow.
You are to remember that you were a slave in the land of Egypt; therefore I am commanding you to do this thing.”
